An invitation to be gentle with yourself<\/h2>\n

\u201cTo respect ourselves, we first need to know ourselves: to recognise our limits, our strengths and our vulnerabilities, and to respect them. [\u2026] This respect means welcoming where we are in this moment, with sincerity and humility.\u201d<\/p>\n

This passage from my book \u00catre \u00e0 sa place explores self-respect. I wrote the book for people seeking to live with a greater sense of inner alignment.<\/p>\n

This passage invites us to be gentle with ourselves, beyond the pressure to perform and the expectations set by others.<\/p>\n

It speaks of listening, recognising our limits, and attending to our deeper desires and needs.<\/p>\n

Self-respect as a journey, rather than another demand<\/h2>\n

We live in a world where self-respect is often confused with the need to keep improving ourselves, to keep \u201cworking on ourselves\u201d without pause.<\/p>\n

Yet respecting ourselves may begin with learning to stop for a moment. It means accepting where we are today, without trying to force our way forward or turn away from our experience.<\/p>\n
