Return to your centre. Make conscious choices. Take action in alignment with who you are.
Être à sa place is a method developed by Michaël Lallemand to help you reconnect with yourself, clarify what matters and turn your choices into conscious action.
It brings together the head, heart and body: your capacity to reflect, your feelings and intuition, and your awareness of what you experience in your body. These dimensions can inform one another as you explore a situation in your life or projects.
The starting point is a simple movement: return to yourself, become aware, clarify, choose and act. The intention is to develop greater autonomy in how you approach decisions and respond to life as it changes.
We often look for our place through our work, relationships, projects or other people’s expectations. Over time, the pressure to fulfil a role, meet an expectation or stay in control can make it harder to hear what matters to us.
Returning to your centre means pausing and paying attention to your own experience. What are you feeling? What matters in this situation? Which fears, beliefs or familiar habits may be shaping your response?
From this point, you can begin to explore a direction that feels more coherent with who you are, while considering the reality of the situation you face.
Your circumstances, relationships and aspirations will evolve. Being in your place is a capacity you can continue to develop: listening to yourself and choosing how to respond, again and again.
The Être à sa place method moves from within into the way you choose and act.
You begin by observing your thoughts, emotions, intuition and bodily experience. This can help you recognise what influences your choices and create space to respond with greater awareness.
Listening to the heart means making room for what matters deeply to you: your aspirations, values and felt experience. The head brings reflection, perspective and the ability to consider how a choice could take shape in practice. The body offers another way to notice what you are experiencing.
Intuition contributes an inner perspective. Reflection helps you question it, consider your circumstances and distinguish a possible direction from a familiar fear or reaction. Discernment grows through this dialogue.
You then clarify a choice and explore how to put it into action. A concrete step gives you something to experience, observe and learn from.
Michaël’s role is to create the conditions for this exploration. You remain responsible for your choices, developing your own capacity to listen, decide and act.
Six connected keys run through the method. First explored in the book Être à sa place, they offer different ways to deepen your relationship with yourself, others and the projects you bring into the world.
They work together rather than forming six steps to complete in a fixed order.
Learn to notice your inner sense of a situation, including impressions you may not yet be able to explain. Listening to intuition gives it a place alongside reason, experience and reflection as you consider your choices.
Make space for your strengths and vulnerabilities, including the parts of yourself you find harder to welcome. Meeting your experience with greater awareness and acceptance can help you relate to yourself more honestly and kindly.
Observe your thoughts, emotions, reactions, beliefs and learned patterns. Becoming more aware of these influences creates room to question familiar responses and consider how you want to approach a situation.
Bring awareness into your everyday life through choices and concrete steps. Making a decision, trying something or changing direction allows you to take an active part in your life and learn from what happens.
Explore how to stay connected with yourself while being present with others. Returning to your centre can help you recognise your own experience within a relationship and respond with greater awareness of expectations, projections and the other person’s perspective.
The same movement can be explored within a project, team or organisation. Reconnect with its purpose and what gives it meaning, then consider how decisions and actions can express that centre with greater coherence.
The method grew from my personal and professional journey, bringing together business, entrepreneurship and analytical thinking with an exploration of intuition, emotions, self-awareness and the body.
Over time, I came to see how reason and intuition, the head and the heart, reflection and action could complement one another.
My book Être à sa place, published in 2023, brought together six keys to awareness and more than 50 practical exercises, including meditations. It laid the foundations of an approach that has continued to develop through individual sessions, workshops, conversations and lived experience.
The book was a starting point. The method offers ways to explore these foundations through your own experience and the situations you encounter.
The book is available in French only.
Michaël Lallemand, also known as Mika, is the creator of the Être à sa place method and author of the book of the same name.
Today, he shares the approach with individuals, entrepreneurs, teams and organisations seeking greater clarity, coherence and meaning in their choices and actions.
You can explore the approach through three formats, according to your situation and the space you would like to give it.
A two-hour session to explore a specific situation, decision or question. Take time to reconnect with yourself, clarify what matters and identify your next steps.
A day in a small group to experience the method through reflection, shared exploration and practical exercises. Explore the movement from returning to your centre to making a conscious choice and taking action.
Support over time to integrate the method into everyday life. Work with situations from your life and projects, practise the approach and develop greater autonomy in how you decide and act.

It means developing a way of being present with yourself and engaging with life from your own centre. Your place can change as your life evolves. The method invites you to keep returning to yourself so that your choices and actions reflect who you are and what matters to you.
The approach may be relevant during a personal or professional transition, an important decision, a change of direction or the creation or development of a project. It also speaks to entrepreneurs and teams seeking greater coherence between what matters to them and how they act. Uncertainty can be the starting point of the exploration.
The book presents the foundations through six keys, reflection and practical exercises. The method has continued to evolve through experience and offers ways to explore these themes with support, through an individual session, a workshop or the six-month programme.
Individual sessions, workshops and the six-month programme can be offered in English. Please get in touch to discuss dates, locations and delivery arrangements.
You may already know what you would like to explore, or simply feel that something needs to change. You can begin with the situation you are experiencing now.
